Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar hosted the All-India Inter-NIT Athletics and Chess Tournament 2025–26, welcoming nearly 600 student-athletes from 22 National Institutes of Technology across the country. The three-day championship featured athletics and chess competitions for men and women in both individual and team events. Inaugurating the tournament, Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia highlighted the importance of sports in developing discipline, teamwork, leadership, resilience, and overall personality alongside academic excellence. The tournament provided an opportunity for students to compete at the national level while strengthening inter-institutional collaboration and sportsmanship within the NIT system. The event also demonstrated NIT Jalandhar's capability to host major national sporting events through its modern sports infrastructure. |
